• How much weight can a paper bag hold? The strongest bags are flat-handle bags made from Kraft paper. They can hold approximately 10–15 kg. Their standard grammage is 70 g/m². Bags with twisted handles made from recycled paper can hold approximately 5–10 kg. Their standard grammage is 80–90 g/m².
• Which paper bag handle is stronger: flat or twisted? A flat handle is more durable, more resistant to tearing, and more comfortable when carrying heavier purchases. A twisted handle is an ideal option for lighter products, such as footwear or clothing.
• Will a paper bag be damaged by rain? Standard paper made from 100% recycled material will absorb water during heavy rain, creating a high risk of the bag tearing. Paper made from 100% Kraft material absorbs less water during heavy rain, reducing the risk of tearing, and can withstand light drizzle without any problems.
Sustainability and Disposal
• Are paper bags 100% eco-friendly and recyclable?Yes, standard paper bags—grey, brown, and white—are fully recyclable, whether they are printed or unprinted.
• Where should used paper bags be disposed of? Which bin should they go into?Clean paper bags should be placed in the blue recycling bin for paper. Important: if a bag is heavily soiled with grease, for example after carrying takeaway food, it should be disposed of in the general waste bin.
• Are the bags made from recycled materials? Most of our bags are made from recycled paper. The remaining bags are made from blended paper, for example 50% Kraft paper and 50% recycled paper, or from 100% Kraft paper. A recycled paper bag is the best choice in terms of both price and environmental impact, while a Kraft paper bag is chosen when increased durability is the main priority.
What is the minimum order quantity for paper bags?
Which printing methods do you use, and will the logo be durable?
All printing methods used by Ecobag Network provide durable results.
Screen printing for smaller quantities: durability 10/10
Inkjet printing for smaller quantities: durability 9/10, due to its greater susceptibility to smudging caused by rain or contact with damp fingers
Flexographic printing for larger quantities: durability 10/10
How do I choose the right bag size for my product?
Bags with a wide base: catering boxes, meal-prep catering services, and food-service businesses
What are the graphic design requirements, and how should the file be prepared?
*For printing on ready-made bags only, for quantities ranging from 1 carton to 5,000 units: bitmap or pixel-based images must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Do you offer paper certification? Paper bags can be ordered with FSC® certification and an FSC® product label printed on the sides, front, or bottom of the bag. The bags may be produced using the FSC® licence code C139003 assigned to Ecobag Network Sp. z o.o., the end customer’s FSC® licence code, or an intermediary’s FSC® licence code. What affects the price of a bag? The price depends on the materials used, the number of production processes, and the amount of manual work involved.
Most affordable – standard paper bags: inexpensive machine production and lower paper grammage. A cost-effective and environmentally friendly option. Listed below from the least expensive:
More expensive – PREMIUM eco-friendly bag without lamination: the production process includes printing, die-cutting, folding, and manual gluing, which makes it more expensive to manufacture.
Most expensive – PREMIUM bag with lamination: the production process includes printing, matte or gloss lamination, die-cutting, folding, and manual gluing, making it the most expensive option to manufacture.
